Trauma-Informed Human Trafficking Screenings

Date published:
01 Sep 2015

This training concerns trauma-informed human trafficking screenings. Human trafficking victims often experience high levels of trauma, which can have a profound negative impact on their ability to function, their behavior, and their self-identity. This training will provide concrete recommendations for first responders to ensure that interviews with potential victims of trafficking are sensitive to trauma. This presentation will encourage law enforcement and service providers to consider ways to tailor engagement that meet the needs of each potential victim, build trust, and increase receptivity to services.
